I have made a picture, posted below, which shows some nice grind spots for up to level 40. I have used them in all my characters except the very first!
I have also noted two 40+ spots, Ivory Tower crater and Alligator Island. The AI is better but in the crater you get spellbook drops and some are really good money (Greater Heal anyone?)

I always thought Alligator Island was a place to avoid since the mobs are so hard to kill, at least for the equivalent levels (40-43?).
What kind of character classes would you suggest going there?
I had never a problem with mobs in AI. In the first area (just beyond the port spot) there are Alligators and Crokian Lads, which are easy and closely packed, i.e. lots of exp. I could even solo there with a BD with FP set, top C duals+3 and self buffs. I used a lot of healing pots, but overall the exp was extremely good. Same with a WS.
Plus, ofc, you get to do the map quests, from which I got more than 1kk :)
Which alternative spot is better?
UPDATE: I have exped my sub in Alligator Island and I was really amazed.
I did 40 -> 41 in less than one hour, getting 30-35% per buff round!! This ofc gets lower and at 47+ I was getting 15-20% per round, but this is still quite good.
The gory details: Hawkeye, Plated Leather Set+3 (gathered and crafted by myself), Dark Screamer+3 Focus (from Luxury), STR+4/CON-4 tattoo, PP 56 buffs.
The PP was healing without shots, which was more than enough. I was never in any serious trouble.
I remind you to take the quest from the Freightman npc, the rewards cover fully the shot costs and you may get Elven Mithril Gloves too (1kk+).

To the rest of the clan: What about organising a clan excursion to the island, with SE/PP out of party, for the characters 30-45? It will be fun! I was thinking of Procroustis, Cellia, the 2 Kamaels, Laxtaras and Betta maybe too.
What about B grade and above?
Where is a good spot after reaching 52?
BTW some people claim that life starts at 80.
